Tourism that Cares owns the Luxury Kosher Safari brand. We are a family-owned business that has been in the industry for 23 years. We have highly experienced Kosher butchers, chefs, mashgichim and tour guides who all work together in delivering various levels of Kashrut depending on your budget and observance of Kosher. Kosher Safari options are limited, if you don't have a partner who understands how to deliver this service, especially in remote areas outside the main cities. We are recognized as destination specialists with enough experience to handle a small budget Kosher family trip to a large VIP Safari incentive group.

The purpose of this sample package is to give a multi generational family an idea of what it would cost to come out on a lovely trip, where the grandparents have invited their children, and grandchildren on a collective trip.

This sample is based on the hypothetical group of 2 grandparents, 2 sets of parents, and 6 grandchildren. A group of 12 guests on a specifically designed trip for a group of this size, using the appropriate accommodation and touring vehicles and flights to ensure a really seamless and enjoyable 5 star experience.

Our trip starts in the best malaria-free private safari reserve in Southern Africa, offering the BiG 7, not just the Big 5. A reserve that competes with the best on the continent, wild, open, and very advantageous to those we prefer to avoid malaria medication.
We then head south to Cape Town for a handful of days of touring, including downtime for Shabbos in a vibrant Jewish community.

Our final 3 nights are spent in the most amazing seaside town on the Garden Route.
It starts every Monday at Johannesburg International Airport and ends the next Thursday back at Cape Town International Airport. This is not a group tour, but a private tour for families wanting the flexibility of going at their own pace on day tours, smaller owner-run accommodations with a high focus on privacy and personal attention.

International flights to and from South Africa. (Arriving in Johannesburg at the start of the tour, and departing from Cape Town at the end of the tour)

Expert Tips

Many people do not realise that South Africa offers a wide array of safari regions and hence limits their choices down to Kruger. But to those who live here, we know that many of the other reserves offer excellent safaris, and those with children, or an aversion to malaria medication, travel to these “other “reserves and enjoy just as good a safari experience, without the hassle of malaria medication.

Monday: Madikwe Game Reserve

Arrival in Johannesburg on a morning flight preferably. Road Transfer to your safari flight terminal, and take an easy 1 hour flight directly to the safari lodge. Check in, refresh after the international flight, and enjoy an optional spa treatment or relax in your room overlooking the African bush. Late afternoon sundowner safari drive,  return to your lodge for a lovely welcome dinner.

Tuesday: Madikwe Game Reserve

Your typical day starts early with a sunrise game drive, followed by a long leisurely brunch, and time at leisure before a high tea/meal in the afternoon, and then a mid-afternoon safari drive, and returning back to the lodge for dinner.

Wednesday: Madikwe Game Reserve

Your typical day starts early with a sunrise game drive, followed by a long leisurely brunch, and time at leisure before a high tea/meal in the afternoon, and then a mid-afternoon safari drive, and returning back to the lodge for dinner.

Thursday: Safari lodge to Cape Town

After our final morning safari drive, we will fly back to Johannesburg landing at midday, and then connect onto an early afternoon flight to Cape Town, 14h00- 16h00. Transfer 30 minutes to your hotel, where you guide will orientate you with info on the nearest Orthodox Shul, as well as giving you a drive through overview of the city,  before dropping you off at your hotel. Welcome lunch included.

Friday: Cape Town

Full day private Cape Town City & Table Mountain tour. Includes: vehicle, guide, Table Mountain tickets, visit to two museums Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens Company Gardens( Time permitting). A lovely visit to the Kirstenbosch tree canopy walk  is also a highlight set on the slopes of Newlands peak and an amazing botanical reserve. Return with good time to prepare for Sabbath Friday services, and then walk 7 minutes to the Local Shul. Thereafter enjoy Sabbath meal at the Hotel.

Saturday: Cape Town

Day at leisure for Shabbos, and often the Shul will invite visitors to join them for a meal, but we also have catered for Shabbos meals back at the hotel.

Sunday: Cape Town

Full day private Cape of Good Hope tour. Includes: vehicle, guide, Entrance fee to Chapmans Peak Drive, Cape Point & Funicular, Penguins at Boulders Beach. Drive along the coastline, to the Cape of Good Hope, and also en route stop for a visit to the only penguins that exist on the African continent. Unique to this southern coastline, and rare and protected species. We will also see the highest sea cliffs in Africa, before returning via a spectacular coastal mountain pass, similar to the Amalfi Coastline in Italy.  Picnic lunch included en route.

Monday: Cape Town to Seaside Town on the Garden Route

Our tour guide will pick you up and transfer you to Cape Town International Airport. Fly from Cape Town to George 11h25 12h15, a 50-minute flight. Our guide will collect you at George Airport and transfer you, around 1 hour to your accommodation. Welcome lunch upon arrival.

Tuesday: Seaside Town on the Garden Route

Full day private Sanctuaries & Elephant tour. Includes: Vehicle, guide, entrance fees to: 2 Sanctuaries & Elephant Interaction. Visit two sanctuaries, Birds of Eden & Monkey Land. Birds of Eden is the world's largest two hectare dome that spans over a gorge of indigenous forest. Monkeyland is the world's first free roaming multi-specie primate sanctuary. It's mission is to educate and foster greater understanding of the primates. End the day with an African Elephant Interaction. Walk trunk in hand with the Elephants and feed them, while learning more of the sanctuary. Picnic lunch included en route.

Wednesday: Seaside Town on the Garden Route

Full day private Nature tour. Includes: Vehicle and guide.

Thursday: Transfer back to Cape Town Airport, end of services

After breakfast we will transfer 2 hours back to Cape Town Airport, to connect onto either your international direct flight or domestic flight back to Johannesburg.

  • Once you have chatted to our consultants and set the preferred dates you want to travel, please note a 50% deposit secures this private tour for you, and the balance of payment is due 45 days prior to departure.
  • Prices are subject to availability of accommodations, and services, as well as flights. If accommodations are fully booked, we will ensure good alternatives are sourced and communicated upon receiving the enquiry with your preferred dates.
  • It starts every Monday, at Johannesburg International airport, and ends on a Thursday at Cape Town Airport.
