Tourism that Cares owns the Luxury Kosher Safari brand. We are a family-owned business that has been in the industry for 23 years. We have highly experienced Kosher butchers, chefs, mashgichim and tour guides who all work together in delivering various levels of Kashrut depending on your budget and observance of Kosher. Kosher Safari options are limited, if you don't have a partner who understands how to deliver this service, especially in remote areas outside the main cities. We are recognized as destination specialists with enough experience to handle a small budget Kosher family trip to a large VIP Safari incentive group.

Starts every Wednesday in Cape Town, and ends the next Wednesday in Johannesburg.
The main focus of this tour is personal attention from owners in a small (5 bedroomed) safari lodge, and also a lovely, yet classy family friendly hotel in Cape Town, close to many of the main attractions.

Those who have the budget and time, can add a 2 night/3 day optional extension at the beginning of the tour, by arriving on a Monday, and then ending up in Cape Town on a Wednesday for a host of experiences, including: 2 nights in Victoria Falls, or 2 nights in Hermanus during Whale Watching season, or 2 nights on the Garden route in the beautiful town of Knysna.

2 Domestic flights: Cape Town to Hoedspruit, on day 5, and Hoedspruit to Johannebsurg on Day 8.

Private airport transfers and stated day tours as stated in the program for Cape Town and the Safari Lodge.

Sabbath meals and personal introductions to Orthodox Shul in Cape Town.

Exclusions

International flights to and from South Africa. (Arriving in Cape Town at the start of the tour, and departing from Johannesburg at the end of the tour).

Any meals not clearly stated as included. Optional day tours, activities, spa treatments, etc, that are not part of the daily included program.

Scheduled economy class ticket fluctuations due to availability of the fare basis quoted.

Wednesday: Cape Town

Arrive via Johannesburg or direct into Cape Town Airport. Our tour guide will whisk you straight to your hotel, 25 minutes away, to relax and recover from the long haul flight. Welcome dinner with a personalised gift will be served in your room, or downstairs in the restaurant area.

Thursday: Cape Town

After breakfast, we will depart on a full day tour of Cape of Good Hope, and en route we will also stop at an African Penguin Colony, and walk to the stunning lighthouse set on the highest seacliffs in Africa, overlooking the entrance to False Bay. En route back we will stop at various viewpoints including the famous Chapmans peak drive, reminiscent of Amalfi Coastline in Italy. Three quarter day City tour including Table Mountain, Kirstenbosch tree canopy tour, Jewish Museum. Late afternoon returns to the hotel after a light stroll on the Atlantic seaboard promenade, in the heart of the Jewish community. Your guide will also point out the Orthodox Shul. Walk to local shul. Shabbat dinner included.

Friday: Cape Town

Cape Town‘s history dates back to when Lithuanian Jews fled northern Europe to come to South Africa, and in the heart of Cape Town‘s historic city centre is there one of the oldest Synagogues in the Southern Hemisphere, as well as a lovely walk through formal gardens with Houses of Parliament, SA National Gallery, and then just up the hill, the cable way to Table Mountain. Our morning is packed with history, beautiful views and a walking tour of the area. The afternoon we will break out of the city centre and over the hill to an incredible botanical reserve located on the side slopes of Table Mountain, and visit the tree canopy bridge set high above the forest floor, overlooking a large area teeming with birdlife, and hundreds of unique plant species. Return to the hotel with ample time to prepare for Shul, and walk down the hill for Friday night Shabbos services. Return to the hotel for a private Shabbos dinner.

Saturday: Cape Town

Full day at leisure for Shabbat. All Shabbat meals are included.

Sunday: Cape Town to central Kruger

Perhaps take one last walk down the Atlantic Ocean Promenade, if you are an early bird, and then breakfast, before transferring to Cape Town airport. Fly 2 hours 30 minutes directly to Kruger National Park‘s central region. Your ranger will meet you and transfer you 45 minutes through the African bush to a stunning little lodge with its own spa, private plunge pools and a great location in the heart of the African savanna. A light meal will be served on arrival and then settle in, before going on a quick late afternoon sunset game drive.

Monday : Kruger National Park

The lodge is located at the junction of various highlights, Today we will take a full day guided tour into Kruger National Park with a picnic lunch included. Return late afternoon to the safari lodge. Enjoy a lovely bush barbeque with tender Kosher meat and lovely setting under the stars.

Tuesday: Panorama Route

Today is a great opporuntity to discuss with your ranger 2 options. Either you can do a Full day Panorama route journey, where we will see the largest Green canyon on earth, the Blyde River Canyon, Graskop Gorge and the Bourkes Luck Potholes. Or you can replace it with an open 4 x 4 tour into a Big 5 reserve near the Orpen Gate which is teeming with Big 5, and perhaps combine this with the wildlife rehabilitation centre visit. Both options include a premade Kosher parev picnic lunch en route , and a wonderful final farewell Fleischik dinner.

Wednesday: Kruger back to Johannesburg.

After a leisurely breakfast, perhaps one last spa treatment (optional) or a little bush walk, we will transfer to the nearest airport and fly 1 hour back to Johannesburg. Fly 14h30 to Johannesburg. Arrive 15h30, connect onto your international flight. END OF SERVICES

  • Starts every Wednesday at Cape Town International airport, and ends the next Wednesday at Johannesburg International airport, and works well for 2 to 10 guests. If you are coming with a larger family group, we will quote more suitable accommodations accordingly.
