Our Story

Tourism that Cares owns the Luxury Kosher Safari brand. We are a family-owned business that has been in the industry for 23 years. We have highly experienced Kosher butchers, chefs, mashgichim and tour guides who all work together in delivering various levels of Kashrut depending on your budget and observance of Kosher. Kosher Safari options are limited, if you don't have a partner who understands how to deliver this service, especially in remote areas outside the main cities. We are recognized as destination specialists with enough experience to handle a small budget Kosher family trip to a large VIP Safari incentive group.

1

Monday: Kruger National Park

Arrive Johannesburg preferably on a morning flight. Connect onto 11h00 flight to Skukuza. 1-hour flight, then meet and greet in 4 x 4 at the airport, transfer 30 minutes to the lodge. Freshen up, before a relaxing afternoon safari drive. Welcome dinner.
2

Tuesday and Wednesday: Kruger National Park

Mala Mala was the first safari lodge to offer true safaris in Southern Africa. It is unashamedly boastful of its high percentage of success in seeing all of the Big 5, during a 3-night stay, multiple times. Its history is rich and the lodge celebrates what the Rattray family brought to conservation and tourism as early as the 1930’s.  We normally take our morning safari drives around sunrise, before the heat of the day, with a handful of guests and very experienced and educated rangers. Return to the lodge for breakfast and option to do spa treatments or time at the pool. An armed ranger can also take you on an exciting nature walk. Lunch is served on the deck with views of the Sand River, which attracts a lot of animals daily for the shade and the fresh drinking water.  After a bit of a siesta, we head out on an afternoon safari drive. Return to camp after sunset. Dinner is served in the restaurant, on the deck, or around an open-air barbeque set under the stars.
3

Thursday: Kruger National Park to Livingstone in Zambia

After breakfast, and final game drive, we will take a short air hop from the Mala Mala airstrip to Kruger Mpumalanga international airport. Here we will take a 2-hour flight to Livingstone, on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls. Our guide will collect us, and after a brief tour of the historic Synagogue in town, we will transfer to the lodge in time for a nice sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River
4

Friday: Livingstone, Zambia.

Our focus today is to tour the falls, both on the Zambian and Zimbabwean side, to get the full impact of the falls, and then return mid to late afternoon to prepare for Shabbos. Prayer candles and a Havdalah set has been set aside for our Jewish guests in their room.  Shabbat meal has been premade in advance for the guests.
5

Saturday: Livingstone, Zambia

Full day at leisure for Shabbat. All Shabbat meals are included.
6

Sunday: Livingstone, Zambia to Okavango Delta, Botswana

After breakfast, we will transfer across the border into Botswana, and then take a charter flight south into the heart of the Okavango Delta. Eagles island is unlike anything the guests have seen before, a haven of birdlife, hippos, crocodiles, an elephant that wade in the shallows for the tasty papyrus roots. Its a magical water wonderland of lagoons, rivers and islands and declared a protected UNESCO world heritage site. Enjoy lunch on arrival at a very special viewing deck, looking across to a busy heronry, and shallow waters of the lagoon.  For our afternoon activity, we will go on a sunset boat ride, and return for dinner.
7

Monday: Okavango Delta, Botswana

After breakfast we can either go on a guided Mokoro trail (similar to the Gondola’s in Venice, with a “poler” who pushes the boat through the water.) OR we can opt for an upgrade to a helicopter flip over the Delta (Cost is additional and not included, at approx u$ 350 for a lovely scenic flight over the area)  We will return for lunch, and time at leisure. The options for your final afternoon included a guided visit to the nearby authentic, non-showcased tribal village, or a guided bush walk, or a second sunset boat cruise on the myriad of waterways in front of the lodge.  Farewell dinner, with some special handmade gifts presented at the table.
8

Tuesday: Okavango Delta to Johannesburg International airport.

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip, short 20-minute charter flight to Maun airport, and then a 2 hour scheduled airline returning back  to Johannesburg. services. Connect onto your outgoing international flight from 19h00 onwards.  End of services.
